Blog Bash 2011

Happy Wednesday. It feels like it should be at least Thursday though. Just sayin. :) On one of the blogs I follow I saw that there was a Blog Bash going on. I thought it could be fun so I'm going to join in as well.



So first, a little about me...

(Honestly, I'm lazy so parts of this section were copied and pasted directly from my "About me" page. Hehe.)

I am married to a wonderful man named Travis. We have an adorable pitbull named Maddy. She's the sweetest pup on the planet and would lick you faster than she would bite you. I can't stand people who buy into the hype about pitties being bad dogs. I procrastinate like it's my job. I like wine. A lot. I'm super crafty and have a small side business making chocolate treats. I don't eat meat and haven’t since the 3rd grade. I find that the more profanity I use, the happier I am. (For the full version, which includes zombies, please click here. )

Now that we have the formalities out of the way, onto the questions....


1.) What's your favorite memory from Summer 2011?
I don't have a favorite memory...it's more like a collection of memories. We go over to our friend Heath's house. We bring Maddy since Heath has a pittie too. Our friends, Tom & Amanda bring their dog too. Everyone just hangs out. We go swimming , we barbecue and most importantly, we drink. This summer I mastered the art of making a kick ass sangria punch which is now the drink of choice. The dogs run around like mad (and truth be told, Maddy humps Amanda's dog, Luna, who is also a girl. It’s kinda funny to watch). It’s just a fun, relaxing afternoon/evening with some great friends.

2.) What's your dream summer vacation?
Any place that looks like this!

3.) What's your favorite thing to do in the summer?
Kinda goes along with number 1. I love just spending time with my hubby, dog and friends outside...barbecuing and drinking wine or sangria. I love going to the beach too...although, my pasty white Celtic skin doesn't like it so much.

4.) What's your "blog goal" for 2011?
I guess to get more consistent with blogging. I've definitely gotten better but I still have a long way to go. I would also like to continue to increase the number of people who read my blog. It' so fun to connect with people online you wouldn't have had the opportunity to "meet" otherwise.

5.) Let's hear the story behind your blog title! :)
It's "Pink Plaid." The pink part is because it's my favorite color. It's so happy and upbeat. I can't help but smile when I see something pink. Plaid comes into play because I'm Irish and Scottish (my Mom’s parents were from Ireland and Scotland and came to this country in when they were in their twenties.) I always think of kilts when I think of Irish & Scottish people...and they are obviously plaid. It just reminds me of family. And nothing is more important than family. So there you have it.

Is this week over yet?

I feel like I need a big drink. This week feels like it's dragging on and on. I guess the fact that it's before 9am isn't a good thing...but I swear there are 100 more days until Friday! Oh well. Today is the official half way point so yay! I'm linking up...are you?

Wordless Wednesday: How does your garden grow?

Ok, I can't be quiet for too long, even though this is supposed to be wordless. :) Thanks to my friend, Johanna at Metal Cloth and Wood, I am now obsessed with Vignette. It's this awesome app for Androids that allows you to take pretty cool pictures. I am still trying to figure it all out. There are so many filters and settings you can use. It's amazing! I took all of these photos in my garden using that app. I'm still trying to figure out what's wrong with my real camera. *Sigh* Well, this makes me happy for now.

Weekend/Sunday Blog hop

There are so many awesome blogs out there. I really feel like I need to skip work and just read. I'm sure my hubby won't mind if I quit my job...neither will the mortgage company. ;) Today I've joined The Let's Get Social Sunday Blog Hop. I hope I get a few new followers from it. My blog is sad that I don't have a lot of followers. I'm looking for a few more weekend blog hops but I need coffee and lots of it first.

Hi everyone. Happy Friday!

I wanted to say thank you and welcome to my new readers. I have found a lot of cool, fun blogs to follow as a result of the blog hops. I'm so glad that you found me too. If anyone follows me, I promise to always follow back. I tried to comment on a few blogs but it seems as though blogger is currently acting up so I'm not able to. Lame!

Anyway...

As some of you may know, my brother, Kevin, is getting married in January. I couldn't be happier for him...and truthfully,  for me. Jackie, my sister-in-law to be, is amazing. She is everything I ever wanted for my brother. I always begged my parents for a sister but that never quite worked out for me.  ;)  I finally have a sister in Jackie. I love, love, love her!! I honestly can't say enough good things about her. We are so lucky to have Jackie in our family.

This was taken at my wedding. Aren't they cute? I'm pretty sure that's the biggest smile you will ever get out of my dear brother.

Since I didn't do a lot of blogging for my own wedding, I have decided that I will be sharing all the fun and exciting details leading up to their big day. We still have a while to go (and for me, a more than a few pounds to lose) so I will be posting stuff in the upcoming months. For now, take a look at my treasury that was inspired by their plans so far. Enjoy! (I'm really not sure why the last 2 spots are missing. Do people delete their items out of treasuries?? If so, rude!)

Blog Hop

I recently had the "Geek Squad" look at my computer. 782 viruses were found. 782! So they are still working to clean up my mess. Hopefully they will be done soon.
